Interim Operations Director – North Region

12-week interim assignment | Full-time | Covering eight care homes

Advinia Healthcare is seeking an experienced Interim Operations Director to provide senior operational leadership across eight care homes within our North Region for an initial 12-week period.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will provide visible, hands-on leadership to Home Managers and ensure the portfolio delivers safe, high-quality, compliant and commercially sustainable services.

This is a fast-paced interim assignment requiring an established operational leader who can quickly assess performance, identify priorities and deliver measurable improvements across quality, workforce, occupancy and financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide visible operational leadership across eight care homes.
• Support, challenge and hold Home Managers accountable for service delivery and performance.
• Maintain strong oversight of quality, safeguarding, clinical risk, complaints and regulatory compliance.
• Identify operational risks and implement clear, time-bound improvement plans.
• Monitor staffing, recruitment, retention, agency usage and workforce stability.
• Review occupancy, revenue, expenditure and budget performance, ensuring effective recovery action where required.
• Build effective relationships with the CQC, local authorities, commissioners, residents and relatives.
• Work collaboratively with the Quality, People, Finance, Recruitment and Estates teams.
• Provide clear and evidence-based performance updates, assurance and recommendations to the CEO.
• Promote an open, accountable and resident-focused culture across the region.

About you

You will be an accomplished senior operational leader with:

• Substantial experience leading multiple services within residential or nursing care.
• A strong understanding of CQC requirements, safeguarding and the adult social care regulatory landscape.
• A proven record of improving quality, operational and financial performance.
• Experience supporting services through regulatory improvement, turnaround or significant organisational change.
• Strong financial and commercial awareness, including budget management, occupancy growth and agency control.
• The ability to establish credibility quickly and provide both constructive challenge and practical support.
• A visible, decisive and collaborative leadership style.
• The flexibility to travel regularly between homes across the North Region.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business travel.

• Initial 12-week interim contract.
