Golfhill Care Home is a large, welcoming care home specialising in elderly nursing care and dementia care, where delivering outstanding resident-centred care is at the heart of everything we do. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated nursing professional looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role in supporting both residents and colleagues.

    About the Role

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Home Manager to ensure the highest standards of clinical care, compliance, and resident wellbeing are consistently achieved. You will provide leadership, guidance, and support to the care and nursing teams, helping to create a positive environment where residents can thrive and staff can develop professionally.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to combine your clinical expertise with leadership responsibilities while making a meaningful difference to the lives of our residents and their families.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the Home Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring high standards of care and regulatory compliance are maintained at all times.
    • Provide professional leadership, guidance, and support to senior staff, team leaders, and care teams.
    • Monitor and review care plans, risk assessments, and medication administration procedures to ensure they remain accurate, effective, and person-centred.
    • Ensure all assessment tools are fully implemented, regularly reviewed, and utilised to support outstanding resident care.
    • Conduct comprehensive pre-admission assessments, taking into account residents' physical, emotional, social, and psychological needs.
    • Ensure each resident receives regular reviews of their care requirements, including a minimum annual reassessment.
    • Effectively manage staffing resources, ensuring safe staffing levels and efficient deployment of staff through rota management.
    • Monitor care staff hours and authorise timesheets in the absence of the Home Manager.
    • Build strong, positive relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external stakeholders.
    • Support the completion of staff inductions, mandatory training, and ongoing professional development programmes.
    • Identify additional training needs and contribute to the development of a highly skilled workforce.
    • Assist with implementing and monitoring action plans arising from inspections, audits, and internal quality reviews.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, dignity, respect, and person-centred care throughout the home.

    About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

    • An active NMC Pin (RGN/RMN).
    • Previous experience in a senior nursing or leadership role within a care home setting.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently at all levels.
